Top Ten 2016 debut books I can't wait to read

I know there's a thing call "Top Ten Tuesday" roaming around the blogging world, but since I work on Tuesdays, I wanted to switch it up and do Top tens posts on my own time instead on a set date since I'm a newbie around the book reviewing world. I'll probably sign up to do it on Tuesdays eventually, but I can't with work consuming my life. But, basically this post is gonna describe what books I'm dying to read during the new year and since it's already December, why not talk about it right? :) Now I'll say this, this list has only debut novels and authors that are appearing in 2016. I am going to make a 2016 list of other novels for authors that are already published, but have books being released during the new year. So let's get started right? Right.

(In no particular order)

1.) After the Woods by Kim Savage: As I looked at the summary on good reads, I'm growing more interested by the second, the premise seems to be a thriller theme with a dash of paranormal. Since these sort of books are up my alley in the reading department, I may snag a copy when it comes out. And look at this cover, mysterious right?

2.) Underwater by Marisa Reichardit: Like After the Woods, this book's premise caught my eye. However, since I don't read a lot of contemporary novels, I think this will be a risk taker on my part into that genre. Personally, I think it's gonna make me shiver and cry a little on how relatable this character sounds to a introverted person like myself.

3. Sword and Verse by Kathy MacMillan: I've been seeing popping up on blogger's twitter accounts and blogs lately, and my gut is telling me that this is going to be the fantasy of the year when it's officially released. But, only time is

22065067

4. The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie: Just the title makes this book sound and look fantastic as all hell. Plus the premise on good reads sounds pretty bad ass.

24790901

5. Ivory and Bone by Julie Eshabaugh: I am in complete and utter awe for this author because I've been waiting for her to make a debut with a book since she became a contributor in the 'Let the words flow/(Pub)crawling' blogs back in I want to say 2011? The premise of this book sounds fantastic and I'm gonna pick this up when it releases. I'm so proud of her for kicking ass and making a name in the publishing world!

27064385

6. Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton: The idea of this story sounds interesting to me, plus its nice to read books with diversity in it. :)

24934065

7.) Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst: This book sounds like a heartbreak waiting to happen, especially with the princess falling in lover with another. But, what I like is the twist within the romance and how the premise from good reads doesn't tell you much about it. Hopefully it turns out pretty cool in the end.

8.) Dreamology by Lucy Keating: Every girl needs a romance in her life and this sounds like my perfect romance story of the year. This is the first time hearing about this book and already, I'm craving it from what I saw on good reads.

23466626

9.) A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess: This books is apparently about magic and I do enjoy seeing magic in books. Haha.

and finally...

10.) Daybreak Rising by C.K Oliver: This is like number nine on my list, but I feel as so it's gonna be a little darker than A Shadow Bright and Burning. Though more or less, this sounds like a kick ass book as well.

Okay, so these books are my most anticipated of 2016 in terms of debut novels being released. What are you looking for reading next year? Let me in the comments below or on twitter(@xthewolfwriterx) and I'll be back tomorrow with a book review. Happy Howling!

Top Ten Tuesday: Auto-buy Authors 2015

It's time, time for a Top Ten! So this is from the lovely creator of "The Broke and the Bookish" blog and this one is pretty much self explained if you guys read the title of this entry above. Basically, I have to reveal to you lots about my top ten auto-buy authors and the reason behind them. It is a fun and simple list, so let's get start shall we??

10. Michelle Hodkin: I fell in love with her Mara Dyer trilogy and the way she was able to bring out the psychological aspect into full effect. I really want to read more books from her.

9. Patrick Ness: I loved his A Monster Calls book so much and I'm just beginning to read his Chaos Walking Trilogy. His writing style is interesting and I'm just ready to dive right into the trilogy with a positive attitude.

8. Ransom Riggs: Simply because his debut trilogy Miss Peregrine's Pecular Children is one of the best trilogies I've ever read. The characters were fresh, the concept with the photos were well researched and nicely added into the book, and overall, Tim Burton is directing the movie for this series!

7. Maggie Stiefvater: I love her Raven Cycle series. Her writing style is unique and her characters from that series are weird in the most wonderful way. Although I am not a fan of her The Wolves of Mercy Falls series, I will continue to read more books from her in the near future. :D

6. Lani Lenore: She is an amazing writer, her Nevermor Trilogy and Nutcracker Bleed books were fantastic with the world building and characters. Plus, she can write horror and make it realistic-- its awesome.

5. Cassandra Clare: Simply its because of her Mortal Instruments series. I'm planning on binging on the entire series when I'm able to get all of the six books to it. Plus, the Infernal Devices is one of my favorite trilogies.

4. Marissa Meyer: I loved her Lunar Chronicles and just like everyone else; I'm dying to read Winter. She just has a interesting way of creating adventure and characters that are diversely interesting in their own way. And also, Levana is a bitch. Just saying.

3. Susan Dennard: Even though I haven't finished her Something Strange and Deadly trilogy yet, I'm still edging to buy all of her books when they come out (especially Truthwitch) because Susan Dennard is an amazing person and a great helping in the writing community.

2. Alexandra Bracken: I loved, loved, loved her Darkest Minds trilogy. This trilogy was one of the most beautifully written trilogies I've ever read, and I literally cried when reading these books. I look forward to watching the movies when they come out!

and finally 1. Sarah J. Maas: From the moment I discovered her on fiction press, the more she inspired me to write again. I love her writing, her determination, and everything about her as a person. She is simply amazing and a wonderful writer. She and Susan Dennard are literally two of the few writing heroes I have to this day. Read her books people, they are great!

Okay everyone, this was the list of my ten auto-buy authors. I hope you all enjoy and tell me who are on your auto-buy author's list. :P Happy Howling!

Top Ten (or Five): Favorite TV shows

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today's post will focus on the 'Top Ten' series, and today we are going to talk about TV shows. This doesn't include anime shows. I'm keeping that for a future post and for my anime blog. And also, this post will only include top five and not a top ten. I'm too picky as too what show I personally enjoy and I can picture five at the top of my head. So without further ado- let's get started.

5.  Bitten:

This is a new show I found on Netflix and it includes one of my favorites in the world of the paranormal; lycans/werewolves! The show is sexy and keeps the viewer interested with the plot. Plus the boys are hot -swoons at Clay-. The protagonist Elena is an bad ass. The story mostly follows her and her weariness towards her pack, but eventually you get to see the character growth in her along with the other characters. On the more awesome side, this was created based a book series written by Kelley Armstrong called "Women of the otherworld". :)

4. United States of Tara:

I found this show randomly on Netflix (see a pattern here guys); I didn't regret watching it for the first time. It took a deeper insight on a person who has Multiple Personality Disorder. I thought the personas were original and funny at times. It did get annoying from time-to-time, but I loved how they focused on the other members of the family as well by touching difficult subjects for a little while. Overall, this show was awesome, and I love going back to it and learn more about the disorder and the downside with having it.

3. The Following

I haven't watched the third season, but the first two seasons were beautiful. I fell in love with the idea of an Edgar Allen Poe cult. The antagonist was amazing and the actor did a wonderful job portraying this character to a 'T'. I also enjoyed Mike, he was a sweetheart and seeing him dramatically changing throughout the show just made me want to hug the crap out of them. The plot was perfect, all of the characters were on point and I'm eagerly waiting for Netflix to update this show!

2. Daredevil:

I found this show my chance. At first I was a skeptic because after the movie, I thought I was going to hate this show. But, once I started it; I couldn't stop. The show was simply one of the best shows I've watched during this year. DareDevil was hot as hell in my opinion, he performed wonderfully just like the rest of the cast. I was so involved with the plot and the aftermath of their actions that I was sad to see it end till they released the next season. If you guys are really into Marvel/DC heroes and villains, then watch this show!

and finally 1. Supernatural

I grew up with this show. It holds a special place in my heart and I was so amazed by the paranormal/supernatural elements into the story. The brothers are cute, witty, and total badasses. The rest of the cast was perfection, especially once Misha Collins officially appeared as Castiel. (Destiel for the win.. just saying). The entire plot of the show does have some ups and downs (yes I'm talking to you season 7), but overall; I can't help but love this show to death. Plus, it doesn't hurt to love watching the bloopers from this show. The cast are hilarious!

So what are your favorite tv shows? Tell me in the comments below. I'll see you guys tomorrow, happy howling!

Top Ten Fridays: Books Pt. one

Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to a new series on my blog, "Top Ten". I know you all have probably see this on a blog before, but it's my turn to do it. Haha. Alright so this series is pretty simple. Every other Friday, I'm going to post my personal top tens of whatever, but it would most likely be about books and book related things. Considering that I'm going to do the same thing for my other nerd-y blog as well. So, today I present to you the first part to many parts of my top ten of favorite books ever (and ever and ever...). This part is just a general top ten, there will be other others, but they will be very specific based on genres. Now with that being said:

(>'-')> ^('-')>  Let's get started! <('-')^ <('-'<)

(Declaimer: They are from 10-1, I love all of the books equally. But, these are the books that I've kept close to my heart, these are just a personal choice and opinion. You don't have to agree with my list.)

10. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Michelle Hodkin): This book was a pleasant read, dark and psychologically thrilling for me. I speed-demon read it and the second book. (I will be reading the third one soon!). It has an interesting mystery into it and the book had a good build up for the other two books and I can't wait to finish the trilogy.

9. Twixt (Sarah Diemer): I finally brought this book for my nook during the holidays and I was so excited to read this. I was not disappointed by it at all. It's a LBGT paranormal-fantasy stand alone and I couldn't put it down. The world is beautiful and haunting. And the ending, my word it was tragic.

8. Something Strange and Deadly (Susan Dennard): Normally I'm not a big of zombies in literature, but after reading her debut novel, I fell in love with her story and I'm dying to grab the rest of the trilogy. Susan Dennard is a brilliant writer and sweetest person if you follow her blog, newsletter, and on twitter.

7. Invisible Man (Ralph Ellison): This book is a powerful novel, the beginning was striking and the characters were so strong. I highly recommend this novel to you all.

6. Throne of Glass (Sarah J Maas): I adored this debut when I got the book for my birthday. Sarah J Maas is a fantastic writer and considering she worked on this series for 10+ years, the effort was shown in her words and the characters are kick ass.

5. Legend (Marie Lu): This book was a start to a dramatic and dystopian based trilogy. It was wonderful debut and I fell in love with Day and June. The story was great and fast-pace. One of the best novels from 2012.

4. Fan Girl (Rainbow Rowell): The author knew how to create such a realistic novel and when I read this, it was like I was a college freshmen again. I loved it and Cath, I wanted to hug her. A great stand-alone and if you are a nerd-y person like I am, you will enjoy this novel.

3. A Court of Thorns and Roses (Sarah J Maas): One of my most favorite books of 2015, this retelling of Beauty and the Beast was beautifully written and the world building Sarah created was fantastic. For a new adult novel, it was an amazing read when I won an ARC copy of it in a contest.

2. The Darkest Minds (Alexandra Bracken): The first book to one of my most favorite trilogies ever. I literally almost cried when I was reading this book. The story was a great beginning novel and Liam. That's all I will say now, Liam.

1. The Book Thief (Markus Zusak): This book, it was so, so, so beautiful and it was told in the point of view of Death. I love the historical content and the characters were amazing to follow.

<('-')^ <('-'<)

So that's it, these are my top ten books to date. What are your top ten books? Tell me in the comments below and I'll be back with another blog post. Happy Howling!
